What is T-Drain Horizontal Drain?
T-Drain Horizontal Drain is a prefabricated drainage band installed horizontally inside embankments, slopes, and retaining structures. While the T-Drain PVD accelerates consolidation by draining vertically upward through soft soil, the Horizontal Drain intercepts pore water moving laterally through an embankment body or slope — collecting it and directing it safely to the drainage outlet.
The product consists of the same proven T-Drain core and filter jacket used in the PVD system. The rigid core maintains continuous flow channels even under compression or bending loads, while the filter jacket allows water to enter freely while preventing fine soil particles from clogging the drain.
By removing excess pore water and reducing pore pressure within the embankment, T-Drain Horizontal Drain significantly improves slope stability, reduces the risk of internal erosion, and extends the service life of roads, embankments, and retaining structures built on or near soft ground.
