Green slopes on soil at pH 2.
The slopes along this mine road were cut from acid-forming rock. Once exposed, the excavated material drove the soil down to pH 2, far too acidic for vegetation to take hold on its own, leaving bare faces open to erosion.
Indramas supplied and installed the EnviroMax RC system, combining Slope Saver with hydroseeding, to establish vegetation directly on the cut slopes. The completed project shows that a dense green cover can be grown even on highly acidic mine soil.
