What is Ecomat?

Ecomat is a three-dimensional structured erosion protection mat manufactured from Polyethylene and Polypropylene, designed to provide an immediate solution for controlling surface erosion on slopes and channels. Available in two grades: L3 (260 g/m²) and L4 (350 g/m²).

Ecomat works by creating an artificial root system — its open three-dimensional structure traps soil particles and holds them in place, preventing them from being transported by water or wind. This provides immediate slope stability while also acting as a growth medium that allows vegetation to establish and permanently reinforce the surface.

Once vegetation is established through the Ecomat matrix, the combined root network and mat structure provides long-term erosion resistance with virtually no maintenance — making it a cost-effective, low-intervention solution for slopes, waterway edges, and embankments.

Immediate Erosion Protection
Ecomat provides instant surface protection from the moment it is laid — trapping soil particles and resisting runoff before vegetation has time to establish. No waiting period: the mat is the first line of defence.
Easy Installation on Slopes up to 60°
Ecomat rolls out from top to bottom on the slope and is secured with U-pins at 1 m intervals. Overlapping panels (5–10 cm) ensure full coverage. No specialist equipment required — installation is fast and straightforward.
Lifetime Low Maintenance
The durable PE/PP construction does not rot, rust or degrade under UV exposure. Once vegetation is established, the mat and root system together form a permanent, self-sustaining erosion protection layer that requires no ongoing maintenance.
Supports Revegetation
The open 3D matrix acts as an ideal growing medium — topsoil fills the structure, retaining moisture and nutrients for seeds. Combined with hydroseeding, Ecomat delivers rapid green cover even on steep, dry, or difficult-to-access slopes.
